key plip for central locking 2002 406 hdi

having some trouble here getting my plip working the central locking its 2002 406 2 button remote battery is reading 3volt tried the usuall ignition on press button twice as ive only 1 remote am i doing something wrong is there different ways?cheers

Tried numerous ways as advertised on internet and just had a weird fault when i pressed both buttons on fob my radio switched itself on i was outside with door closed????? any ideas would be appreciated cheers

radio problem sorted was loose connection at head unit.still needing help with key fob if anyone can help? central locking works with key in lock but fob doesnt work everything else ok just be handy to have the lazy lock/unlock working.cheers
