*shudder*

Great new avatar btw :)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Tasteful.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I'd have one for it's flexible nature and pleasant burble, but I don't think I could ever convince myself it was a fast car.
Quicker than most cars on the road. Faster than anything with a 155mph speed limiter
Lordy, when it was new I'd already owned hatchbacks with more power (Integrale Evo) and 12 years on hatchbacks with half as much power again are not uncommon. Never driven a car yet that felt truly hyperspatial, and that included a full house 600 BHP R34. Once you've owned a 9.21 second Veyron crushing bike, a rather heavy family saloon with a mere 200 brake is a bit of a non event.

I guess it's down to what you've had before and how your brain was thus calibrated.

My 1st motor was a beige Allaggro 1750Tc, and it kinda went downhill from there for a few years...
