New 406 sri turbo owner

Post by lordmpl »

Hello All,

My names Mark I live in Norwich, Norfolk, I have just bought a 1998 406 SRI Turbo, its a bit tatty but I do love a project.

The previous owners dog has eaten some of the back seat including the foam bits, Was covered in dog hairs and keyed all down one side.

I have so far used the old G3 compound and got most of the key marks out but some have gone through to the primer, so a trip to the local smart repairer is in order there, I am currently searching for new interior, the interior now is grey with red squares all over it, it's horrible..

The car itself drives very well, not sure about the turbo though, there is no noticeable difference in boost its a 2ltr so is not slow, but not as quick as i thought i might be, maybe the turbo is not working properly, we shall see as times goes on.

Well thats about it for now, im sure i shall be chatting to you all on here as i ask for help, and maybe even give advice myself, I have always been involved in my own mechanical repairs, don't believe in paying someone else for things I could do myself.

Thanks all, Mark.
Once again I have a project... The wife says if I dont stop spending money on my cars she's off... Shame i'll miss her....

Hi Mark, Welcome aboard! :cheesy: Pictures would be nice, we loves pictures :)

I'll bet the inside smelled like a dead dogImage I'm sure someone will be a long soon to set you straight on the engine, though I think the word is don't expect too much from it in it's basically mild state of tune. Interior wise, go for a D8 exec for minimum hassle, although it is possible to fit a D9 it doesn't look like fun.

Is this turning into the 406 turbo Owner's Club? :P
