D8 / D9 Wing mirrors

a quick question

were there just the two styles of wing mirror for the 406 i.e. D8 & d9 ?

plenty available on ebay, but it's hard to tell from all the dodgy pictures if there were just the 2 types

basically, if you hadn't guessed, I'd like to fit the newer type to my D8 SRI...

I noticed there were two types too, and I've fitted later D8/D9 mirrors to my 98 Exec which had the earlier mirrors fitted. They were a straight plug and play replacement, and took a whole 5 mins to fit and check that they all worked (memory settings, etc). You can see the differences in the pics on my 406 page here.

BTW, my mirrors were from an S reg D8, so not too sure whether the D9 ones will have slightly different looms/connectors for the multiplex wiring. The later spec mirrors seem to be on cars from 98/99 onwards whether D8 or D9. I think we may just have to change to "early or late style mirrors" instead of "D8 or D9 ones" as that's not strictly correct.
