Fuse Problem, Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Fuse Problem, Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Post by jamesg904 »

I was turning the engine on at the same time as pressing the rear windscreen heater and the head lights. When I did this the was a significant glow coming from the fuse box and the head lights no longer worked. I then replaced a blown fuse but the fuse keeps blowing every time I turn the lights on. Has anyone got any thoughts on what might be the problem

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks

glow?

check the wiring behind the fusebox - you'll probably find some wired have melted and the lights are now shorting

Thanks for getting back to me,

I had a look behind the fuse box and all the wires seemed OK, any other thoughts? could it be a problem within the fuse box its self? Is there any way to fault diagnose the problem?

Cheers

Just to say managed to find the problem, both bulbs were blown and was causing the fuse to trip.

Thanks for the help!
