Im 25, bought the 406 after owning many other Pugs. Loving the space, comfort and toys you get with it. Makes driving the 270 miles to my mothers no sweat at all.

Anyways, I don't think I've ever seen a Grandad driving a 406? :?

They mostly drive Rovers, or more recently Korean stuff.

I've seen more granddads and grannies driving Nissan Micras at 30 MPH in a 60 zone than I could possibly count.

It seems to be the definitive old person's car.

Now that I've said that, I recall one regular member on here has the words "Nissan Micra" in their sig, and I think I'm going to get the piss taken out of me :supafrisk:

agreed, ive also never seen a grandad driving a 406.

i dont have the walnut interior issue as i have the Rapier which is all black inside, which i love.

i live in Sunderland and my parents are down in Milton Keynes so its the ideal car for that sort of motorway journey, hell of a lot more comfy and faster than my friends cars, which are the usual student crap like Clios, Corsas, Puntos etc...

Im 35, have had 406's since 2004, and 306's in the family at the same time. I did have a breif flirtation with an Octavia TDI but it was a costly beast, so got another 406.

I think even though most are 10years old (ish) it hasnt dated that much and is still a good looking, comfy and economical saloon car.

Hmmmmm, that would be me :supafrisk: Yes, I'm a grandad as already posted, I got the Micra cheap off a customer that thought the car was going to cost a fortune to repair,(someone else's diagnosis...not mine), I bought it for my son when he is 17 (march), turned out it only cost £8 to fix, I paid £400 for it 18 months ago ...Y reg.
I drive a Peugeot Expert van(forgot to put that in my sig) and the 407 when I can prise the keys away from the wife...she loves her 407 to bits.

I'm 37, had the estate since Aug 2002 and had a D8 saloon for a nearly 2 years before that, so that'll be Sep 2000 then, I'd have been 27 :cheesy: . Strangely no-one's ever taken the piss out my 406s, most people love the comfort, luxury, ride and the practicality of the estate. I did have a Mondeo LX prior to the D8 which I bought when I was 24, got some ribbing about that being an only man's car at the time 'cos all my mates had boy racer novas and fiestas and the like, but they were just jealous   .

Hey I'll be celebrating 10 years of 406 ownership this year (if i make it to September ) 8)

im 20 i passed my test at 17 and now im on my 4th 406 bought my first one at 17 so its definatly not a grandads car and i have to agree all my friends mock and laugh and because its a Rapier they call it the "rapist" or "repair" but on all our lads weekends away theres lots of room, lots of comfort and i hear no complaints from the fantastic sound system everyone seems to want to go in my 10 year old 98,000 406 than my mates 59 reg Alfa Mito so i think that speaks for itself, i just think its being stupid and uneducated, oh its a 4 door family saloon so it MUST be a grandads car but i dont hear anyone say that about Imprezas, Evos, M5s or even Mondeos!

Turned 22 today, have had an oil-burning 1.9 d8 GLX Estate since July 06, (now ex)girlfriend hated it as it was an estate, but it drove her round for 18 months, ungrateful cow!!
Towbar on it, so started towing the trailer as soon as i had it.
Urine got removed from guys at cadets, till it then pulled the minibus out of a ditch in the lakes, using the tow rope that is always in the boot bin, also got jumpleads and a compressor in there. How many people in their early 20's do you know that still carries them? Got a couple of fire extinguisers in it too, but thats only really for when i have to move weapons for cadets.
But now im spoilt, as ill have to shell out serious wedge to get all the toys that ive got in the 406 on my next car. :(
The answers no!

Now whats the question?

I am 53 (and not a grandfather) and have just bought the 406 SV V6. The previous owner was a 21 y0 women who said it had "street cred"! Bought my first Pug (404) when I was 22. The then gf, now wife, was 24 and driving a 203.
