central locking

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

central locking

Post by keithmorris68 »

the central locking has failed on just the rear o/s door on my 1999 406, all the rest of the locks work fine both with the key & fob, could anyone help shed some light on this problem. regards Keith

Hi there

First you need to remove the door card, you will then see the central locking mechansim mounted at the top of the door where the door handle is located. It can be identified by looking on the outer edge of the door, you will be able to see the torx head bolts holding it in place. There is some plugs that go into the unit, remove them and ensure the contacts are clean, spray some WD40 into them and plug back in. Check if the mechanism is working again and if not you will need to replace the mechanism.

Hope this helps
