NO instuments working (HELP)

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Sounds like a BSI shot. Try a reset procedure

Hi
Disconnect the battery on your car, leave for a few mins to ensure the power has drained from the BSI and ECU. Re-connect and see if normal operation has resumed, if not the BSI that operates the electrical system on your vehicle located behind / below the fuse box in the drivers foot well may have become defective.

Hope this helps

Do a search on here for the BSI reset procedure. Also, check the carpet for dampness

A BSi is VERY expensive. You'd be better off getting a BSI and engine ECU from a car with the same engine in a breakers yard.

From my limited knowledge of BSi's it is not as simple as just swapping them. Lots of coding in them specific to the car, so "things" don't work if BSI in the wrong car. End of my knowledge but others may know more about how to get it reprogrammed.

Which is why I also said engine ECU

It would also need setting up again by a dealer or someone with pp2000 - coding the stereo to it, configuring any features, etc
