Replacing front fog lamp

Post by mjh »

Hi,
Can anyone tell me as to weather i need to remove the front spoiler inorder to change a fog light unit.I removed the plastic wheel arch cover and wheel to have a good look but the new fog light unit has 3 fixings, 2 at the bottom which are accessable, but also one on top of the unit which looks impossible without removing the spoiler.Any help would be appreciated thanks.

D8 or D9? If it's a D8, then there's two bolts and a spring clip IIRC. Easy to remove under the front of the car, no need to remove bumper or anything, just the plastic under body bits so you can get access from underneath.

Hi,

Its a 2000 model ,2.2 saloon so presume its a D9,having said that and after looking earlier today your description of the 2 bolts and the spring clip seems to go along with what i saw.

If its a D8 - then not that bad a job as posted above - I just fitted a set to my car - the spring is the only tricky bit to get on if new - but not difficult - as for a D9 i got this if any help.

I did both of mine but the top bolt you have to feel for it then with a shortish ratchet driver you can reach it without removing the bumper. jack up the front of the car and move the plastic shields and you can see better.
