Morning! I've a V reg 99 406 2.0 LX that I've not run for a month or so. Just thinking about putting it back on the road, so I've charged the battery up lovely, popped it back under the hood, but the car's not starting. It's turning over fine, there's no emulsification in the oil. It just won't pick up. I suspect there may be a little damp in the electrics. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated. Meanwhile, I guess I'm gonna have to start trawling through pages and pages of forums...

Re: Problem Starting
Which 2.0 do you have? 16v petrol or one of the diesels?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

16v petrol. The Haynes manual suggest spraying a few electrical areas with WD40 such as the battery terminals, the fuse box and the alternator. I'm not mechanically inept, but I don't know much about engine specifics. No problems with service, but this is a little beyond me.
