Hey all,
Despite all the signs that it's time to get a new car, I'm reluctant to get rid of it due to the fact it's such an amazing car.
The car seems to be accelerating on it's own. There's no pattern to when it happens and you really only notice it when changing gear.
When you dip the clutch between gear changes, it's almost your trying too hard to double clutch. So you see the rev's hover around 2k.
Yesterday, whilst going to pick the mrs up, the same thing happened, yet this time, when I dipped the clutch, the revs kept on going up to the point where I had to kill the engine (at 4.5k, is that wise...)
When i started her back up, she was fine until later on that day, when it was idling and then it started reving on it's on in a pattern and then it went away again lol
I've spoken to my peugeot mechanic and he suggested removing the accelerator cable from the rocker and check it's free. Which it is.
This leads me to think theres a problem with the ECU or my mechanics concern, the fuel pump.
I haven't seen the stop light come on at any time.
Any idea's? It's a D8 2.1 TD LX
Cheers

Re: Yet... Another problem.
The last time I had this problem, the reason for the fault was the oil level too high.
Re: Yet... Another problem.
The car's recently been serviced but that was before xmas. I haven't touched any of the fluids since.
