I'm taking the cylinder head off my engine to get it skimmed monday morning and new head gasket, but i'm at the point where i either need to remove the manifolds before i remove the head from the block, or i need to disconnect the turbo and/or exhaust to remove the head complete with both manifolds still connected
Is there anyone that has done a head gasket on a 110 hdi 406 that can advise the best way to deal with the turbo and manifolds ? (do i leave them on, or take them off before removing the head ?)
Thanks

Re: 406 hdi 110 head gasket procedure ??
I did it !, there are 3 bolts holding the turbo onto the manifold, so i removed those and left the turbo with the block, saves disconnecting the oil feed lines

Next question !, anyone know what sort of socket you need for the head bolts ?, they seem to be a reverse torx bit (if such a thing exists), it looks like a T55 from my set, but the head of the bolt is the same bit as my torx set, or is there some kind of adaptor you have to buy from peugeot to remove the head bolts ?

Ok, i think i just answered my own question partly with a quick google search, it looks like i need a Torx Socket, but does anyone know the size ?
