thats what i was thinking i always keep jump leads in the car but i took them out to put them in my new 406 so ill habe to have a go this evening

Re: I'M SICK OF THIS CAR GOING WRONG!
I would have said flat battery too, if you are taking jump leads, be very careful when you connect them up as the spark could do all sorts of damage, connect the last lead as fast as you can in 1 swift action to minimise arcing
Take spare big fuses with you, a multimeter, some wire in case you have to short/jump/test something temporarily, and if you have a spare charged battery, take that with you too as its easier to just swap the battery over if it is flat

Like said above, a spare fully charged battery, so you can just swap that over straight away and then work from there. As has been said before, when modern batteries go, they just go. No long break down period, just instant death.
Big fuses are under the bonnet, but probably best to check the HBOL for what you may need. Also, you could 'borrow' the fuses from whatever 406 you go in to test the stranded one.
First things first though, make sure that the battery terminals are still connected as one could have come free!

Re: I'M SICK OF THIS CAR GOING WRONG!
yes its fixed! haha all that trouble and some bloke from the garage next to where my mums work casting his eye over it before i got there saying its all manner of things "ohh its definatly not the battery" i'm sorry but what the f*ck does he know if he cant diagnose that and hes there! i think the underhanded twat wanted to try and relieve me of my wages! i took my other 406 there hooked it up to the battery and there was life! my dear old mother left my sidelights on ALL day so after starting it up and resetting the radio and clock and date etc etc i drove it home and its been fine since, it just really gets me how some people can be so stupid and for my troubles i now have a big dent on my bonnet where the heavy handed grease monkey tried to push it while it was in gear! i wish people would keep their nose out what was a simple fix caused by a silly mistake nearly escalated into some pratt charging me for ripping apart my electrical system when it would have just been able to be jump started, but yes i take back what i said about the car it was human error...and then women wonder why they get labelled bad drivers...
thanks again for all your help the other night guys
