car alarm

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

After you remove the key, push and hold the alarm silence button (looks like this: o))) and should live either by the headlight adjustment or near the handbrake) until the light stays on. That will deactivate the interior sensors until the next time the car's unlocked

If memory serves, holding the alarm button after turning on the ignition will completely disable the alarm.

Check your handbook first.

As for the cause, it's likely either a leaky door seal or your recirc flap's broken

The siren is located at the rear on 1999+ models, behind the wheel arch liner.

Just check with the guy because if the alarm is being activated (but otherwise silenced by cutting the siren) then it may remain 'immobilised' in the process - I may be wrong?????

If it's going off with the interior ultrasonic sensors disabled, it's going to be a door/boot/bonnet switch. The usual culprit is the bonnet one because it's more exposed.

Near one of the bonnet latches, you'll see a little switch... Give it a clean with some electrical contact cleaner and see if that helps
