Fuses for central locking 406 3.0 SE Coupe
I`ve been reading handbook and believe the fuse required is a 20 amp and located on the lower fuse box to the lower right of steering column but the release thingy`s don`t have grooves in for a screwdriver--i am worried about forcing them out in case they break and won`t pop back in properly--any idea`s folks????????????????

I think you're looking at the soundproofing, which is a bit too low
(btw, they do just pop out!)
On a D8 there should be a screw thing under where you pull down the pully-down thing (either an immobiliser keypad, or a little hidey hole), and on D9s there are 3 black screws across the whole of the lower fascia. Use a 10p piece to undo these screws 90 degrees and it should fall open. On D9s you need to release the steering wheel adjuster lever too - that should give you an idea about which bit I'm talking about...

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
