2.2 sri engine mods

Post by no2lurch »

on my w reg 2.2 sri, i was wondering what can i do to the engine to give it a little extra go. i was thinking k&n filter, but what else? can the throttle body be changed? is it worth putting an oil catch tank on it to help it breath better? anything else?

Bit limited really especially as no-one will have produced perfomance parts as the market is too small. A K&N filter might perk up the throttle response (but create induction roar - maybe you want that anyway?) an exhaust system will be very loud and annoying but may increase throttle response (questionable extra bhps on n/a engines) some engines lose torque when fitted with exhaust tubing which is too large in diameter (done that myself with the Honda).

Otherwise there is a chip available and I think turbolag on here has looked into this and maybe had it done? I think it takes it from 170bhp to 180? something like that?
