Oh and it was quiet yesterday cos I was out in the afternoon loosing £10,000.00 on a contract where the client refused to pay for some additional works (covered extremely loosely by the specification of works)

*adds £10,000.00 to the next job*

You do seem to get burned by a lot of clients, are you doing something wrong?

It's the element of risk, sometimes it pays off sometimes it doesn't, 7 out of 10 jobs make money the other 3 don't - it's just how it is. We start off with a quotation and fixed price (nothing more than my estimate based on increasingly poor drawings and specs) then there'll be some additional works and if the job runs well then all's good but if things don't go well, or the extra works are disputed then an agreement has to be reached to gain payment.

We'd rather write off £10,000.00 and walk away with £20,000.00 than argue it out for months on end and perhaps walk away with £22,000.00 and a ruined relationship. We've already guaranteed the next contract yesterday by 'helping' with the account.

It's all a big game really, sometimes it's fun and sometimes it makes you want to weep :|

We're working on the skyscraper on the left at the moment, doing specialist interior services, pretty cool eh?

Elephant & Castle believe it or not :o

43 stories of private apartments complete with wind turbines on the 'roof'. It was build using the slip forming method (bit like a tunnel) the crane driver threw the towel in at about 2/3 up - t'was too high for him

German registered car in Poland.

My bet is, it's a Pole wo bought the car for cheap and is taking it home to repair.
German autobahns used to be full of Polish vans pulling a trailor with a smashed car.
The Polish appear not to have any safety standards for their cars.

I hate Polish drivers, they the most dangerous you can come across on european roads.
