Motion & Emotion

Post by eoin27 »

I had a look and couldnt find anything on here that adressed this so here goes....

What does everyone think of the new Peugeot ads as well as the new logo and slogan????

IMO, the motion and emotion slogan sucks. Being from Ireland, it sounds like this when someone says it. Mowwwwshion and Emowwwwwshion. Ugh

The logo KICKS ASS!! Really like it. It was always a bit awkward looking and I liked it when they updated it circa 1996. The new one looks top. Have they started putting it on their cars yet?

The ads are good. They grab the viewers attention of the history of Peugeot. But they finish up on Peugeots version of a smart car. Dont even want to know what its callled by the way. They could have stuck a coupe in there too

Motion and emotion... sounds like the result of a curry that was too hot!
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Change for the sake of change,
self congratulating managment boooolsheeet.

How much did the rebranding cost?
Could have just knock a couple of grand off each car, boost sales and help customers out in credit crunch.

I'll have to fundamentally disagree with you there Mr.VND. If they knocked a couple of grand off new ones, that would sesriously devalue our own pugs as well as ruin their already poor image as a good quality car manufacturer in the UK.

Look at Citroen's pricing strategy at the beginning of the last decade. The Xsara undercut the Focus and Golf by at least a couple of grand and look at how much a 02 Xsara costs now compared to a similar Golf or Focus. That has placed an image of a cheap car in the consumers mind. Both cheap in price and cheap in quality. This makes it an undedsireable vehicle. (As well as the fact it was a total piece of crap)

Next, take Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes must be excellent cars, look at how much they charge. **Sarcasm** But they do have excellent brand image and resale value and this can be partially put down to pricing strategies.

Instead of going down the same road a Citroen some years back, Peugeot are currently re-building their brand image in the UK through this new campaign.

Rant over.

Fair comment.
Im dirt poor and may car is worth about the same as a full tank of petrol so resale value has never been something thats personally affected me so I really didnt consider that aspect of my suggestion.

Im sure you take my point though.
the money could have been better spent.
Extend warranties, or some similar reward to save the customer some money. Or reward brand loyalty.

Id be interested to know what the changeover cost.
And what the reason was for the change/spend.

Both are excellent suggestions. Perhaps that is something they could implement along with what they're currently doing. The current 2 year warranty is pretty rubbish. I agree with rewarding brand loyalty. Its known as relationship marketing and many car manufacturers such as BMW and Audi already do it a lot.
