"Toyota" Cruze?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

"Toyota" Cruze?

Post by Doggy »

My Comm2000 style cruise stalk has a button, (Set / Increase Speed), which is sticking in from time to time, so sometimes when I engage cruise, it just keeps accelerating.....

It physically sticks in and can be flicked out with a fingernail, once you know what it is.

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same issue, or found a fix?

(The buttons are about the same as the increase decrease volume ones on the audio stalk, just in case anyone's had similar from them)?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Ya that happens com2000 buttons. I only have experience with the volume up button which is the same mechanism. Take the thing off from the column and take it apart and give it a clean out. You can easily see what makes it stick. It worked for me with the volume control

I thought of you Puggy when I wrote it

I can see the headline now........

Local man ploughs through chip shop window

A local man escaped injury last night after his Peugeot estate car smashed through the "Mr Fish" chip shop on the high street. Witnesses saw the man, thought to be an 'erotic actor', ferociously pulling at a stalk on his dashboard before screaming and crashing into the fish bar. A witness said last night "I think he said he was having trouble switching off his cruise control before he smashed into the curry sauce/pea warming equipment inside". A statement released tomorrow by car-giant Peugeot-Talbot said "we included a cruise control function on many of our cars but did not expect the function to be used outside of the 2-week warrenty". They added "whilst we have every sympathy for Mr Dogg in this case we will not be able to entertain his claim for damages surrounding the Engines ingestion of a battered sausage during the accident".

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be about the bastard offspring of Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz... (like that's possibly, aleggedljdley).

I expected something of the sort from you lot, but judged it'd be worth the barracking for the pearl of wisdom, so thanks Eoin 8)

I agree, this is an abosolute classic, I'm now trying to scrape bits of lunch off me not-so-flat screen monitor
