CD Player

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

CD Player

Post by john1412 »

Hi i have a 406 2000, and it's fitted with the clarion radio that came with it.

my problem is that when i put a CD into it i might play one time and then not play the next, and if the cd did start playing it might only play for a min or two then stop.

does anyone have any ideas?

thanks :)

Sounds similar to a problem that I had with mine. I took the player out of the boot and removed the cover. Being carefull with some cotton buds and cd lens cleaner give the lense a gentle clean. Have a look at the rest of it and clean that to while your're in there. Mine has worked flawlessly for two plus years since i did this. A good rainy day job when the kids are not around. It was a bit fiddly but ok.

How do you do flow charts on here?

Try cleaning CD.
Success - Hooray!
Failure - pull out, take to pieces, clean lens.
Success - Hooray!
Failure - bin it and buy something decent that plays mp3s - Hooray!
