406 at front of 22 car pile up on m62

dont know if anyone saw on fridays news about a massive pile up on the m62 , the stretch of the 62 involved is all i can see outside my front door appart from fields , around 3pm on friday a clown in a silver 406 stoped in severe rain storm in fast lane and caused what liverpool echo is saying 22 car pile up , the local radio and granada news said some 60 vehicles where involved , i have never seen anything like it .

!!. One eye witness said: “They were stretched out over about a mile with a Peugeot 406 at the front stopped in the fast lane.!!

Stupid idiot! Someone did this on the M61 near Horwich the other day, fortunately, nobody got hit.

Maybe, but it was DEFINITELY the fault of every single driver in that pile-up who ploughed into another car without being pushed from behind. See it far too often - people driving WAY too fast for the weather, meaning they haven't got a hope in hell of stopping if the car in front of them isn't moving when it comes into vision.

What if this 406 driver, like I do, stopped a good distance behind a queue of traffic (this was 3pm Friday?) with his hazards and brake lights on? I do that so if I get rear-ended I'm not going to hit anything ahead, which would make a high speed collision a lot more painful... What if he'd broken down there and couldn't make it to the hard shoulder due to ignorant fools undertaking at speed in lane 2?
