Hi,
I had my car serviced a few weeks ago, along with the aux belt. Ive noticed that the engine sounds noisey/rough/tappety and not quite as powerful On starting it makes a rustling noise for a few seconds and a slight squeak and sqeaks when turning off..
I was thinking maybe replace the crankshaft pulley and cambelt?
Do you think this would make a difference?
May also fit new clutch and flywheel soon, as mine is doing the chirp when engaging and disengaging clutch i presume this would also make the car noisier/less powerful if it is failing??
What do you guys think?
Cheers
Phill

does sound like the pulley, or a belt has been over tightened during the service.
wouldnt say that the pulley breaking up would affect performance though, thats solely down to injector pressure and HP pump timing. Do you perhaps have an unmetered air leak or a diesel leak at the injector pipes? Or a faulty pressure sensor on the fuel rail (ouch lol) - these will defo pull the power down and change the noise.
