406HDI 2.0 -SENSOR NAME?

Post by pugface406lx »

Hi there, does anyone know what the sensor is that is located near the slam panel at the front of the engine bay near battery and air filter box please? its mounted on a small bracket of the condensor/ radiator location peg/cushion.
It has a plug connector and a little black pipe underneath from which a small hose connects to the turbo intake ducting. It is a 'denso' item but i dont know what its for or called....all i know is it might be faulty.

Cheers

it's your inlet air temperature sensor, (I believe, but ServiceBox helpfully just calls it 'SENSOR' ):

Im sure its the boost pressure sensor, loads get broken by folks leaning on them and breaking off the tiny tube leading to the pipe.

I broke mine when i shunted my last 406, i effected a half decent repair using a Mk4 escort brake fluid resovoir pipe and some arraldite!

If it's atop the intercooler hose then I think it's boost presure, it's a 'Denso' sensor - Japanese
