Fitting an ammeter to 406.

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Hi there, welcome.

A brief Google says: Fit a volt meter, it's less likely to set your car on fire

Dont see why,

a cheap clamp meter could easily be butchered to show in the vehicle and there would be no contacts to make :?

but i will happily bow to the twin gods of wiggy and google

I'd say voltmeter too - even if there are no issues with the measurement, my alternator's rated at 150A. I'd say that means you wouldn't be able to tell if it was charging or discharging unless it was in a big way.
