Well me personally, I don't really have any other feelings than "Poor families etc etc etc" but the country has come to a complete stand still, the only thing I can compare it too in my living memory is when Diana P of W died.

The TV is nothing but reporters in tears interviewing guests in tears and more reporters in tears interviewing the public in tears, I'm guessing its a really big thing here, but as the outsider looking in I'm finding it all a bit strange, I do know that they have declared a week of national mourning, all sports and leisure events cancelled, most shops are staying closed for the week, as I said I'm finding it all a bit weird but its all very interesting to watch.

The streets are lined with the national flag with black ribbons attached and I mean all the streets, even my little road which is a good 25km from Warsaw has flags on every lamp post.

The investigation by Putin stinks a bit to me, as a friend put it "if my milk went missing and the cat offered to look for it I would be a little suspicious" but thats just me, an uninformed brit in a foreign land :?

Amazing! I think things might be a bit different back in the UK if Brown and half the cabinet had been killed...

It took seconds, I wasn't sure it'd be cool to post it though. Oh well...

I also found this, which appears to be from the middle of last year but seems rather appropriate just now

There ya go, I cropped off the French stuff and uploaded it to my botophucket.

Just trying to be sensitive, maybe we've not got any actual Poles active on here but this site is visible from across the world. Maybe the guy really was nice enough to warrant all the tears and sadness. Then again, that's not very likely considering he was a politician...

Anyway, in 1977 Yugoslavian PM Džemal Bijedić was killed in a plane crash. The joke at the time was when Tito was told of his death he looked at his watch and exclaimed "Is it 2 o'clock already?"

I dont think you have said anything other people arent thinking :supafrisk: .

but they do seem genuinely upset over here, mind you there were a lot of other people on the plane too, 97 in total according to the news over here :(
some of em must have been good people.

Conspiracy stuff aside, I didn't know half of that, they speak too quickly for me to understand on the news here and half the time I'm just looking at the pictures so I just thought it was a plane full of politicians. I understand more why the Poles are so upset. No, not Gordon Brown, not in his wildest dreams.

If it really was Putin then it's certainly back-fired on him, drawing attention to something he'd prefer forgotten.

Fired up the air conditioning at welly towers on Saturday

T'was getting rather warm upstairs as I fought to complete my re-decoration programme - the plan is to complete the house before the nice warm weather and it has worked pretty much. Five months of weekends and I've repaired, sanded, filled and decorated the Hall, Stairs and Landing and then a further 9 rooms including all the ceilings, skirtings, doors and architraves 8) at the last count I've been through 34 tins of paint

(damn I just forgot about the under-stairs cupboard and the 'spare' bedroom :| )...........

I've got to do a load of painting here, mostly muddy dog marks. The trouble is I'll have to wait until the mud season finishes, otherwise it's completely pointless :frown:

Oh look, they destroyed yet another door mat
