If the citroen doesnt have a trip comp (I imagine it doesnt) then you're outta luck.
Does your 6 have a rear wiper (estate)? Does the van?

Knew I'd eventually find a reason not to post the VIN - still I guess there's not much danger of anyone popping over to Croatia to nick a left-hooker comm 2000.steve_earwig wrote:Give me the chassis numbers and I'll tell you if they're a match

They're the same, I sourced mine from the UK

Re: Indicator stalk problem
I have the same on my D9. It is a bit embarassing with it always indicating left.
Bought the updated com2000 unit off a Pug website for about £140. Peugeot dealer were looking £230 + vat.
Haven't got round to fitting it as it looks like an all day job. (Busy with house hunting and that)
Question is, do I have to disable the airbag ECU?
Some guides don't have this, others do.
I was hoping to disconnect the battery using the ECU power down trick with the drivers window down, undo the airbag, steering wheel, covers, old COM2000 unit, replace all, reconnect airbag, reconnect battery, ECU power up trick with the drivers window and start ignition through drivers window lest the airbag activate.
The guide on here recommends taking apart the centre console to get at the airbag ECU.

Re: Indicator stalk problem
I doubt it 'cos my local pug specialist offered to do it for £20, I make that about half an hours labour (which probably means he can do it in 10 minssirwiggum wrote:Haven't got round to fitting it as it looks like an all day job.

Re: Indicator stalk problem
That's the problem, we can help you overcome garage costs and maybe tell you where to get stuff perhaps a tad cheaper but at the end of the day car parts are all expensive (unless you want to drive a Lada or summink similar) I've always done my own car stuff, out here I'm finding labour so cheap it's not worth me getting my hands dirty. The parts on the other hand are even more expensivePeteB wrote:This was one of the reasons I was pleased to find this site, hoping to find an inexpensive repair for this fault after being told it's common and costs £200 ish to sort.

That's 'cos I'm a nervous ninny who doesn't fancy a face full of airbag. Other guys on here just say disconnect the battery for a while. It wasn't a long job in any case but it'd be even quicker without taking the centre console out. With this and having done it before a few times then yes Dai, minutes.sirwiggum wrote:The guide on here recommends taking apart the centre console to get at the airbag ECU.
The com2000 themselves are about 200 quid (unless you have ESP which are more like 400

Shame he doesn't do mobile work to Belfast, would happily give him £20 to save me the bother!DaiRees wrote:I doubt it 'cos my local pug specialist offered to do it for £20, I make that about half an hours labour (which probably means he can do it in 10 minssirwiggum wrote:Haven't got round to fitting it as it looks like an all day job.).

The local Pug dealer to me is a large dealer with many franchises on one site with a bit of a bad reputation.
Need to get out of the Alfa mindset I suppose, whereby a 10 minute job ends up with the car off the road for a few weeks waiting on some obscure bracket or wire to arrive from Italy

It just looked like a biggie. Suppose if it's all screws and that should'nt be much different than replacing a motherboard on a server.
I understand, the airbag is basically an explosive device! Probs safer.steve_earwig wrote:That's the problem, we can help you overcome garage costs and maybe tell you where to get stuff perhaps a tad cheaper but at the end of the day car parts are all expensive (unless you want to drive a Lada or summink similar) I've always done my own car stuff, out here I'm finding labour so cheap it's not worth me getting my hands dirty. Need to tighten the handbrake as well, on the drum brake models is this at the rear wheels or can I adjust it at the lever while I have the centre console off?

Re: Indicator stalk problem
I think that's a yes, although I'm not sure where the adjuster is if you have the one with it at the bottom. If it's at the top then I already know it's a small piece of fairy cake.

Re: Indicator stalk problem
COM2000 is a serious issue on modern D9 406s. You may need to replace the unit, but they are expensive - see if you can rescue one from a local scrappy, then try eBay, but if you need one sharpish and money's not so much of a problem (i.e. your numbers came up on the Euromillions on Friday) then you could always try a Peugeot dealership.
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

Re: Indicator stalk problem
I've "fixed" one but it hadn't got to the broken off stage and I'm not confident enough to fit it back in the car. There is no quick fix though, doing anything to it rather involves taking it off the car.
