unit .My question is ,will the system operate if the built in backup NiCad battery is dead,as is the case on my car. I have purchased a new sounder unit which also seems to have a flat battery and was wondering if the cars electrical system needs to charge it up before the sounder will work.Will an alarm sounder unit operate with its battery flat.

I have a 1996 MK1 Peugeot 406 which has the standard factory alarm system fitted.When key fob used all doors/deadlocks lock,led flashes on dash mounted switch,sensors work,but when alarm triggered the head lights flash but just a quiet ticking sound comes from the sounder (TEXTON 96182344. unit .My question is ,will the system operate if the built in backup NiCad battery is dead,as is the case on my car.
