Auspicious occasion coming up!

Very shortly the Forum will be signing uop it's 3000th member.

I believe we should mark this occasion by presenting the hapless newcomer with something appropriate, 406-ish, (& cheap).

How about some door seal mounting clips, or a sunroof drain plunger, spare wheel well depth gauge, etc.?

Any thoughts?

Thats a lot of members. I wonder how many are active now. I wish someone who was here long enough would regail us with a tale of the forum. I knew there was a site hacking a couple of years back, before I joined anyway.

Well me laddy, it all started with Niz, Nick and Foxy in 2005. The forum looked nothing like it does now but I remember we all dissliked the look of this newer version at the time. There were some funny characters about and the forum was generally really quiet (I guess that's why I became a regular quickly) in fact MOST of the posts were having a crack and messing around

I remember people like MadCow and Kenny, who would make us laugh, Geordieboy of course, oh and who could forget Psychopoet we even had a competition once which was really funny (I won second prize ).

I remember some of the members who contributed loads but arent around anymore as much. TooT, BruceT and of course GeordieBoy. Welly, Steve and Matt are complete post whores whereas im only a little tramp.

Door seal clips sounds about right!
Seriously, we admins need to go through the database; there have been a lot of rogue accounts appearing again which need to be killed off (spam spam spam ). We've also discussed deleting 0 post accounts from years back; I've just checked and there are 800 accounts created between Aug 2005 and May 2008 with 0 posts.

I reckon everyone's right, let's cull the zero posters and then we'll have plenty of time to think of an appropriate prize for the 3000th member (might even get to award something to the new 2000th member if we cull the long term inactive accounts too )

Well, deleted all 0 post accounts up to 01/01/2008; we're back down to 2200 odd users!
There's another 400 up to todays date with 0 posts!

Blue dye hell! I only suggested a few coppers worth of goodies, but before I know it 1/3 of the Forum membership gets carted off to Stalag zero-posts.....
