It would appear that both mine and doggy's are a bit on the iffy side. Mine has spent a few months unused in the garage and as a result has decided it wants to be like doggy's and not speak to D9s Wish I'd discovered it before driving down to plug it into doggy's hdi
Incidentally our Lexia clones appear to be of different construction
So let this be a warning... You get what you pay for, and paying a few hundred for a very expensive setup ain't worth it!

mine works for more than one and a half years and my friend does at least couple of scans downloads a day. So far I'm happy for the 390 USD we paid for that.

It might work tomorrow or the next day. I used the ELM 327 on my pug (I know its chalk and cheese by comparison) and it only decided to clear codes when it felt like it. Where did you buy this cheaper interface from.

Hop on a Ferry and come over to Dublin for a mini-meet Welly. Oh wait, you have an S40. I'll be away that weekend...

I wouldn't call the VAG-COM software user-friendly in the slightest! A cheap interface only speaks to a few of my Golf's systems too...
The Peugeot ECU is a bit dim at the best of times and only likes to hint at what might be causing the problem
You'd be surprised at just what PP2000 can do... when you ain't got a broken chinese knock-off
You can request faults from any networked ECU in the car (there's a good few!), which are given in plain english not the P33423213 that you get from "fault code readers". The software can also take you through troubleshooting steps if you want... You can read and log any sensor values, and activate testing procedures on most stuff that's electronically controlled (dash dials, fans, ICV, ABS pump, solenoids...).
Did you know the non-satnav D9 displays can also be put into an inverted mode so you have black text on an orangey background? In fact you can even put it into a brake fluid change mode where it'll fire up the ABS pump and activate each solenoid in turn while telling you which brake to bleed!

Now thats something I'd like to do. Any other cool things??? Mine is as specced out as yours so can you make the leccy seats move about a bit when you open the doors to impress the women???????

No you wouldn't... it looks crap and would be very annoying at night

IIRC you can test the seat motors, but you wouldn't want to try it while sitting in the car... also pulling out a laptop, plugging a large cable into the car and going "hey look at this, ain't it cool?" probably won't get you laid
EDIT: You know the passenger seat has a second back release handle facing the driver (it's down near the rear ashtray)? You could always leave the seat folded, so you get to watch it slide itself backwards when it's put back upright
