A wee oblique question here, but ignoring the morality of it I would like to ask for info on something!
If I had a car say, that was on HPI, and subsequently bought a replacement reg (normal age-related one from same year) and did not want the original retained, would it still be possible to trace the car's original plate from its V5 or in any other way?
Now don't go all moral on me here, its a hypothetical Q, and it doesnt refer to my old pug, but just to settle a bet (argument) with a pub mate and I need informed comment rather than guessing please, but he says the car will say on the V5 that its been re-registered and what the registration was, I say that if the number isnt retained, then it would be impossible to tell it ever had another reg or that it was ever on HPI....as any HPI check would be on the "current" registration and hence the HPI con-puter would not know the reg wasnt the original one and would return a "not found" result...
