Auxiliary Drive Belt

Post by flyerdave »

Hi, need some help please.

I have a 406 1.9 LX DT July 1998

A few weeks ago my auxiliary drive belt started to shred and has partly wrapped itself around one of the pullys.

I think that I will need to replace the tensioner and maybe some other parts as well.

Can someone who knows more than me please advise what parts I should replace and the best place to get them as main dealer prices are silly prices (Web or otherwise, I do not mind).

thanks for the help.

Crankshaft Pulley, Idler, Tensioner and Belt is what I would replace and have done on my 2.1TD when it did the same, no problems since!
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!

Ebay seems a good kick-off point for parts and a price reference.
