"body colour" D8

Post by sirwiggum »

Saw a red D8 in Ikea Belfast Car park.

The black bumper/side trim was bodycoloured and dechromed. Must say it really brought the look of the car up to date!

Probably not anyone off the board, but it was a surprisingly effective mod.

Wow! I like that! Really nice! The bodycoloured mouldings really do bring it right up to date! She is a cracking car!

The one in the Ikea carpark was similar in Red.

I'm surprised Pug didn't do this for the D9 facelift. Citroen did it on the Xantia facelift (and for the mk1 activas).

Tempted to do similar on the D9. If I could get a paint that matched... :)

Yes, had plastic primer painted on first

I've learnt the hard way before with not using the right primer
Had a Manta 400 Group B replica, and had a fibreglass bonnet, and didn't etch primer it, and over next few months, the paint would peel off due to the flex within the bonnet. :frown: :x :x :| :| :( :( :(
