Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Welcome Barry! :)
Sounds like one of the multiconnectors has got a bad connection, check around the drivers footwell for any damp, pull the connectors apart and check for any corrosion.
We've also had cases of the ignition switch causing some circuits to fail, you should also have a search on "Bsi reset" as that can also cause strange faults!

This is what Teamster's talking about: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4230&p=39954&hilit= ... oke#p39954   If it's not fuses I think I'd be looking for a dodgy connector somewhere...

It wouldnt be the igniton switch if some of the electrics are still working. Did you disconnect the battery for ten minutes? If not, try it

I'm not sure if young Eoin's right there, the ignition switch has several contacts and not necessarily all of them are duff.

It could indeed be the BSI :(

That's a relief! :cheesy: You really need a small balljoint splitter to get the arms off, DO NOT lever against the screen
