Just acquired a 406 2.1TD from my brother, which was nice!
It's essentially going to serve as my runaround while i have my project on, so something roomy with good economy fits the bill.
Quick question - the O/S wing mirror is broken and i have just taken delivery of a new one. Now my car is a Maroon/Red colour and the one i got is a Pale blue metallic type colour. Do these coloured bits just pop off? i don't mind mismatched but would prefer it to look right!

Yes the coloured bit does pop off, however I would remove the glass first & release the catches from the inside to avoid snapping them off!

thanks If i get a spare half hour tonight i'll have a look and see how far i get lol. the existing mirror is still in place, but the glass is held in with duct tape!! should be fun.

The hinges on mine were duck taped when I bought it, hence silver shells because I had a pair of D9 mirrors and the recess for the coloured part is a different shape

I think the clips that held the glass in place have broken off, haven't studied it too much - my brother just said it will want a new mirror basically. May grab some pics and let you know what happens lol!
