Hi all of you i'm new to this forum iv'e just bought a 406 1.9td saloon on a 1999 s plate
Just wondered if any of you could help me i want to replace the front pipe wiht the cat into for one that hasnt got the cat so if anyone had done it or no which pipes fit it would be much appreciated
I'm looking in the parts catalogue, I can't actually find your engine but it looks like the 1.9 was available without a cat so you should be able to get a front pipe without. I'm not sure if any jiggery-pokery is needed doing to the engine management, I doubt it, but it's probably worth waiting for someone that's actually had some experience to come along
Hello and welcome. I have had mine de-catted and it cost me about £60 for someone to chop out the cat and weld in a piece of pipe. Mine had rotted at the front of the cat and was struggling finding a replacement
take the eisting cat off and knock the guts out with a hammer and metal bar / chisel. I did mine like that on the scoob and its cheap (free) and easy, unless you want to refit the cat at mot time....it wont pass emissions in a million years without it mate.

Should pass the mot without the cat if its diesel.
