Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Newbi Help needed with Air con

Post by iparkes »

Hello all

I'm having a few problems with my 406 and need some help to point me in the right direction :cheesy:

Right, 1998 2.1 td Estate.

1st fault -My air-con wont kick in, its all gassed up and if i manually trigger the clutch the AC will work. Are there any common places for broken wires etc? or is there a ecu failure ?

2nd fault - The fuel gauge is up and down the a prostitute's knickers ! Again anything common ?

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome Ian! :)

Have you got climate control or the manual control unit with knobs?

Fuel gauge may be crud on the end of the sender but it is prone to changing level depending on the incline!

Hello mate

Thanks for the reply!

Standard Air-con mate, and the fuel gauge moves up and down when its packed on the same incline :)

Hope this helps.
