D9 Trip Computer

Post by gez44 »

I have been looking at various posts and this subject has been around for quite a while so apologize for asking.I have got a 406 2.0 hdi 110 and was looking to enable trip function.I have got a wiper switch with trip function on the end my car appears to have a terminal missing in the wiper plug if looking from the back of the plug it is the 3rd one across top row which is not there.I have done a resistance check across the terminals and the one that is missing goes to the trip switch .I was wondering if any member knows where the wire goes that is missing.I have looked in the haynes manual but cannot find any reference to trip control on any of the diagrams .If it is not possible to enable trip function the so be it but i just thought it would be handy to have. Thanks in advance for any assistance :)

You'll have to excuse me but I dont have a clue what you're talking about there

But, I retrofitted a trip comp to a D9 before, all I did was buy the stalk with the button (Two arrows) and get it into the dealer to have it 'switched on' in the BSI. No wiring or any of that stuff necessary as in the D8

Hi what iam trying to say is that is it possible to enable a trip function in the bsi on my car a 1999 406 2.0 hdi.The wiring plug that goes to the wiper switch has got a wire missing which i have discovered goes to the trip switch on the end of the wiper stalk so it is obviously needed for something . Does anyone have a wiring diagram i could look at please to discover where the missing wire should go.Thank you :)

Are you saying that there is a wire in the steering column that goes to the trip computer? If so, then u just need to get a stalk with the arrows on the button on the end of it and get the BSI programmed. Easy.
