Just to cloud the issue further, might it be that your clutch is going?

pretty sure it isn't the clutch, dragged my race car on a trailer over 100 miles up some pretty serious inclines at the bank holiday, it was steady but no sign of any clutch slip and I'm sure it would have shown up.
I need to spend some time working out what all the pipes do and arrying out a full inspection, is there any diagrams / pictures on the net showing what does what on this model. I have a haynes manual for my xsara but to be honest they are not what they used to be and I don't really want to waste the cash.

I have same prob and my 306td DEFFO more waft , in fact its more like a N/A diesel than a turbo. :frown:
