fascia plate

Post by kiltedscot »

Finally got a sony stereo for 2000 x reg 406 2 estate.

Got the old one out dead easy, and fitted the autoleads fascia, but am i right in saying the cage does not get fitted with the stereo, as i can find anyplace for it to fit to. just seems the stereo is now quite loose?

got the kit for connecting to my stalk, but did not initially realise the connector is under the steering column next to fuse box, that another day.

Any advice for the fascia would be most welcome..

Thanks

From memory the two top pins on the fascia plate are sprung and there's a nut on the bottom two pins to secure it. When you slide the cage into the fascia there should be enough of a recess to bend the prongs out and get a snug fit (at least with my old Kenwood HU).

You will need to fit the cage that's with the stereo. Do as Teamy says and bend the prongs back so that it's fitted securely, then just slide the headunit in (once the wires have been reconnected of course).
