Any other suggestions to an alternative to this tape.highlander wrote:Hi there,
This is the stuff I bought; it's a thick single-sided clear adhesive tape:

Wrap it around the edge of the boot lid to protect the paint from being scratched by the metal clamps.

I'm sure it's the right stuff but 33 metres is a bit overkill when you need a foot tops

Think it works out at £13.59 shipped. If I have to, I have to, but as said, i'll be left with 32 2/3rds left over

Somewhat on and off topic, to hijack the thread:
I bought one of those boot lip spoilers from Germany
Similar to this but not painted:

Need to prime, paint and lacquer it. Fitting is by 2 long adhesive strips. Needs a bit of a curve round the shape of the 406 bootlid. I'm hoping it will compliment the straight edge styling of the D9 406.

I've seen a D9 with the little lip spoiler and I quite liked it actually.

Re: Peugeot 97151J (D9 Saloon Boot Lid Spoiler)
germany or tiawan, i bought mine from tiawan (£12 cheaper than germany)
heres the link were i got mine from, and they come un-painted, you have to paint yourself , or i think you can send them the colour code for your car and they paint it for you, for an extra fee, im leaving mine black cos the finish is similar to the black trim around my car and the splitter,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
mine hasnt arrived yet but member - wilko bought his from tiawan and it arrived fine, they give you tracking number so you can follow it all the way to your front door

Re: Peugeot 97151J (D9 Saloon Boot Lid Spoiler)
got to say im with you on not being too keen im afraid, not really my cup of tea,
but i reckon it would look better painted and mounted slightly further back but thats just my opinion
otherwise nice motor mate, cant knock u for trying it though, i had one on an old 525 i had a while back and painted the same colour as the car it looked the dogs danglies
Edit: i now notice you couldnt mount it further back due to the curve of the boot lid edge, maybe just a coat of paint would do the trick??? ur gonna tell me its non removable now aren't ya.

Re: Peugeot 97151J (D9 Saloon Boot Lid Spoiler)
ye it will remove quiet easy mate, i will leave it there , i wouldnt paint it they are so flexible and shiny, i think paint would flake and brake off
and plus i like the black trim, it breaks the car up a bit, i will give it a few days yet, its growing on me a little

Re: Peugeot 97151J (D9 Saloon Boot Lid Spoiler)
I was hoping to paint mine before putting it on the D9, but like you said, the curvature of the bootlid will probably cause the paint to flake.
It looks well, any chance of a shot of more of the car?
