Yes, it didn't even 'need' an oil change

No more trips to Ireland anytime soon in the coupe then eh?
Bugger that! Those roads turned a gunky PAS pipe into a full-blown leak, knocked the suspension geometry out (not sure how yet, but it doesn't handle right now), and turned my exhaust leak from something only noticeable by a smell with the bonnet open into a full blown fartfest
If I ever go back over there I'm taking a hire car!

Wanted, but not needed
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Deprecation is enough of a reason in itself, for me. I mean I paid 400 for mine and TBH I expect it to sell for at least that, if not more. Granted I've put some money in to repairs and upgrades, but as I said I paid 400 quid for the thing and I've had it nearly three years. And its never failed to start on me ^_^

I'd say keep on with the good work mate, like someone else said 'better the devil you know' and at least you know the bits you've replaced won't need done again for a long time. I've had a similar session with my 406 lately, spent a few hundred in the last couple of months replacing bits and bobs. It's all part of owning an older car, keep the head up
Mine failed MOT this week brakes Handbrake 2 rear tyres, headlight osr suspension bushes os headlight ended up with new bushes new headlight 2 new rearr discs and pads costing £535 including test fees on a £350 pound car its in good nick so worth spending on it .The costs easily creep up butat least its on the road for another year with no advisories
1997 406 2.0 petrol estate lx..D8.............OH dear where does this nut go?
It's going in next week to have the rear axle inspected and have a bloody good look at it. I might just focus on the back end for now and keep standard springs for the time being. Then a few months down the line I'll replace both front shocks and get lowering springs all around.
Is it normal for 406's to have slight rear camber?

Don't think you should be considering changing your *car*, mate.
Your *garage*, now, that's another matter

Yeh after the car threw me sideways around a roundabout for no reason and then once the garage phoned me up and told me the new bush failed I decided that was a good idea

Took the 406 to the exhaust place, new cat and flexi hose. There is now though a definite rumble off the exhaust at 1000 and 2000 rpms. Took it back but they can't find any more blows
Handbrake needs done.
Paintwork on the door edges where I sprayed with the official spray paint from the official paintcode doesn't match and is doing my head in.
Tempted to weigh it in against a Laguna Coupe....
