I'm just a bit fed up, its just not going right and anything to try and fix something on it either creates another problem or the car decides something else should break (eg. COM2000 fix, the next day the flexi + cat rips)

It's starting to become a bit of a melt.

I'll see how the MOT goes.

£300 to get the handbrake sorted, after spending £200 on a cat

+ the engine mounts need replaced or I will be spending £200 on a cat every month
+ the 1700 rpm misfire (injectors?)
+ Peugeot cannot match the spray paint even with giving them the paint code so the paint work on the nearside doors is patchy

I'm getting shot of it come the summer time. Fed up with it.

£300?!?! It's less than £100 for the parts, what on earth did they do?!

I was hoping for an adjustment.

The cables are rusted and worn, rebuild of the rear brakes.

its a difficult one to decide on whether to keep plodding on or get shut, but what you have spent so far is going to be a total waste if you flog it, keep the faith and one day she might just be a super motor that you know has had all the niggles fixed.

I was thinking that, whether to stick with it and get it sorted.

To get the engine mounts sorted, the 1700rpm misfire, the timing belt and a respray on the doors is going to cost more than the car is worth.

Will MOT it next week and sell it August time.

Hear hear! If I totted up what I've spent on mine & compared it to value of replacing it with an equivalent with a whole heap of new problems it's a no brainer! I've spent more putting problems right than I paid for the car but it's a solid motor with years left in it :) (Touch wood! )

Cars gone back into another garage after the N/S outer lower arm bush failed AGAIN within a week of it being replaced after it failed the first time. I think I'l be going down to my regular garage with the bill and asking them to cough up for it and telling them I won't be using them again.

I had a whole smelly heap of trouble with my HDi and the last £1,200.00 repair sent it into Orbit :frown:

I thought about it all and knowing I STILL had the slipping clutch, the non-working a/c, a knocking on the rear anti-roll bush (the awkward one) and an ever-increasing smell of Diesel about the thing and threw the towel in. I took my £1,100.00 sale price and ran :|

It was an easy decision for me, and I was lucky to be moving up car wise BUT if faced with throwing the towel in and buying something of equivalent value then I'd say no (out of the frying pan an' all that........)

That's the thing. If you're getting a newer car it's worth the risk but replacing like for like could mean real ball ache.
When I won the tubby off ebay I luckily still had the LX sitting waiting for collection; I swapped all the good bits that I'd replaced onto the tubby! :cheesy:

I dunno about all of you, but I'm keeping my Coupe until they either outlaw owning an internal combustion engine, or I have no other concievable choice.

Can't afford to buy a brand new car. Not sure where all these Audi drivers find £30k a pop from. Maybe I'm missing one of lifes secrets.

The way I'm feeling right now, if changing, it would be to a disposable runaround. A small, basic, cheap petrol / non-fuel injected non-common-rail (possibly non-turbo) diesel. The kind of car where a £300 bill would mean running it until it no longer went / MOT ran out and scrapping.

Might get quotes for lower engine mount replacement and paintwork just in case...
