I've not heard of or seen these before, but they don't sound like a bad idea when more than a certain amount of lock is applied... Headlights are aimed a considerable distance in front of the car, so when you're turning sharply enough, they don't actually illuminate where you're going. Front foglights are aimed very close to the car and cover a very wide outwards angle, hence when turning sharply they would actually be useful (I've only ever found them useful ONCE before, when visibility was utterly non-existent and I couldn't even tell how close to the edge of the road I was...)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
I must say that when I was driving a hired Seat Leon is Spain this fog light feature did help somewhat on tight hilly turns - it helped illuminate possible obstructions in the road.

Awesome.
Just had some dickeye in a Insignia remind of this fred....
Was just now cruising along behind a A3 which was wanting to turn right at the next junction when Mr Insignia zoomed past overtaking me then realising the A3 was turning right nipped in the gap between us with his brake lights flashing really fast, looked kinda cool a lot better than in some cars that the hazard lights flash which is daft when they brake hard.
