A few pics of my sunday drive

Post by DiscoPol »

So after a heavy night of revelry and buggering about on here

i decided to head out for a sunday drive to clear the head, now before you get all righteous, let me say i breathalyzed myself first (a common procedure here  ) and came out at a more than acceptable level 8)
(well under an amber light and more like a pale green/yellow)

I thought i would take few snaps on route as i was heading out to meet the wife and child out on a sunday bike ride and to grab a spot of lunch down by a local river.

and not a speed camera for a good 80km 8)
Image

20km of this, and only 2 other cars passed
Image

and finally a pic of my lad and his Daddies battle bus
Image

it had the desired effect and i felt almost human by the time i got back after a spot of picnic lunch and a few gallons of water,

Do I miss English roads?

only the tarmac,

otherwise guys you can keep em, the speed cameras, the congestion, the officer of the law lurking at every turn and more traffic lights than you can shake a stick at, these are things you wont see out here and im bloody grateful tbh.

it was a pleasure to cover the 120 km or so i did today with the sun shining and the tunes turned up, windows down and just me onboard, it reignited my love of the 406.

She was a pleasure to drive today and with the music up high enough I almost couldnt hear the bangs and creaks from the rapidly deteriorating suspension :supafrisk:

Cheers guys it was a great day out, and as you can see the weather was just about right

its started to really warm up here now and is forecast for 34+ by the end of the week,

i think i will have to bite the bullet and do my aircon condenser after all :(

I was hoping i could live without till i sold the old girl but 34+ for a fat man in traffic is a bit much :frown:

moving at pace-ish with windows down is where its at 8) ,

but come work days sitting in traffic and dressed for work its not going to be so pleasant is it

I once drove to a meeting in Essex (from Wales) in a company car 306 estate diesel with no air con on a boiling hot, sunny day. It's not a good way to arrive at a Customer!

Looks like a lovely fantastic road.

Aircon for the win, wouldn't be without it now!

Would make a cracking 2nd car, those XUD lumps are bulletproof (unlike the fussy HDis).

205s are surprisingly resistant to rust too!

I've seen a few 205s about that must be nearing 15/20 year old and the bodywork is spotless!

Especially if the car has cloth seats, yuck!
I'd never buy a car without aircon now.

Just as unpleasant wearing bike leathers in the heat, I was real boil in the bag on Friday!
I still couldn't believe the number of prats riding in shorts and t-shirt though. Don't get me wrong I like eyeing up a girly pillion wearing a mini skirt but I'd soon lose interest if all the skin were scrubbed off
