just been looking at the mpg, and the 2L turbo diesel, 110bhp does about 10mpg more that the others, is this right? I'd be better off with that rather than messing about with veg oil
or not??

Sadly Bailes the next time im in the uk im flying in and driving back out here in a range rover or discovery, whatever i can find at the time for the right money, but if i do head back with the 406 i will be sticking it up on here as a cheap sale as it just isnt built for these roads :(

cant say what the 2.1 does mpg wise but my 90 Hdi is capable of 55-70 mpg which makes it a very cheap car to run if your fairly happy with easy driving and not bothered about getting past too many things

even now with short runs and terrible road and traffic conditions im still getting about 55 mpg out of it.

Bailes said the old 1.9td can be chipped to 110-115bhp but I don't think that's strictly true. More power can be had but as a result of a hit-and-miss affair with a spanner and the main fuel pump (basically frigging it up to inject more fuel) but this is likely to shorten the life of the pump (although they are cheapish).

The 2.1 is semi-electronically controlled and can be remapped for more power.

If you wanna run veggie oil then the motor needs to be as simple and robust as humanly possible (even glow plugs would be a luxury) :|
