I'm a lucky man!

Post by teamster1975 »

Sitting on the doorstep having a smoke this morning, I happened to glance over at the bike and spotted this on the front wheel:

I gently pushed the valve with my finger and it let all the air out
How the hell it happened I don't know but if that had blown while I was riding heaven forbid.

I do check them regularly! I'm far more meticulous with the bike than the car
I've got one of those right angled valve adaptors, you know how much of a pig it is to get a garage airline on the wheels otherwise.
Doesn't look as though it was cut, I'm guessing the rubber was perished and the boys decided to have a fiddle
Yes, the back one is fine!!!!

Thankyou, but I don't think that would have helped in this case!

Oooh, that'll last forever :cheesy:

I changed the cover on my old KLE (I had to, it was PINK) and it wasn't as hard as I'd thought. I have a cover on order for the TDM, not because it's ripped (one tiny hole on the side near the back) but because something weird's going on with the foam and it's leaching its way through the vinyl - looks ghastly. I've also been watching this but I'm not sure about getting it across the border without being clobbered hugely for import tax.

I wasn't being cheeky, I'm a devil for forgetting to do stuff like check tyre pressures, if nothing changes from week to week I think "why bother?", leave it for ages and only remember when the handling starts to get a bit, erm, interesting...
