Fuel filter change on HDI
I'm going to change the fuel filter on my 110 HDI. I did this on my Pug 306 Diesel, all was straight forward and I had a kind of pump thing I sqeezed to get the diesel back in......my HDI does not have a pump thing, will it do it automatically or is there another method of getting the diesel back in?
Re: Fuel filter change on HDI
Sounds the same as my 110.After changing the filter, just switch on the ignition,& the lift pump under the rear seats pumps the fuel straight through.Never had any problems on my HDI

Re: Fuel filter change on HDI
I changed the whole housing on my fuel filter, some people recommend this practice.
(The HDi 90 has a little XUD-style primer bulb)

I thought the primer bulb was just the Semen's system without the lift pump

Dunno if it's the same as the 90 but if so you just turn ignition on and off four or five times and you should hear the pump running and pumping the fuel through then give it a whirl.
Ran mine out a few times and that's all i do on mine and then it starts spot on

So far.........
Bought new fuel filter then had the much fun job of trying to remove the top of the fuel filter housing. What a job, that thing was almost welded on! After much effort it moved and I removed the filter.......Just about to put the new one in and found it was a different shape.....Yep, I had been sold the wrong one for my car
So I went back to Motoserv and told the chap who sold it to me all of an hour earlier to which I got some sort of grunt as he walked off with it to return with the correct one!
