all sorted again, i hadnt installed the software correctly, ive spent the day becoming accustomed to the machine, it is a very good piece of kit. I did the fault code reading, almost shat myself when i seen 'presence of faults' beside engine and ecu. Turned out to be the brakes which i already knew about so now i know it is really there.
It also showed up some faults about the instruments, so it let me test every part of the speedometer, ie every gague, the backlights, the mileometer, and the warning lights:

all the usual options here, including traction control which ive turned on, you can also change the engine type, which i did since mine was set to petrol strangley
then under the mfd section i had a number of options on it such as the way the date is displayed, if i want the temperature in centigrade or farenheight (which can already be done) and there is this:

which makes the mfd look like this:

its hard to see a point in this but it may be easier to read in the sun?
then theres the speed limiter option:

this would be a good thing, but im not sure how to work it.

more impressivley are the additional options under the radio settings, i believe i can drop the volume coming out of the radio, but more importantly i can enter the vin number which i believe would unlock a vin locked radio, i didnt try it in fear of locking my radio out but it probably can unlock the radio.
all the ecu options:

finally i turned off the service indicator, its only a gimmick of a thing in my opinion and something to have to reset.
Sor thats just some of the things i found out how to do, the pp2000 then is definatley worth it, mainly because it reads and resets codes, but it will also do tests for all the cars features, and if you want to up the spec of your car you can add things.
