can anyone plz help me
Hi all hope someone can help me been on holiday over the weekend in the caravan. Hooked up the van to come home and car just stalled when I was hooking up tried to restart nothing. It turned over anyway rac man came out fuse had gone on fuel pump but now I get a ping ping noise when I start up and the bit where the clock is constantly resets itself on start up and is dim anybody got any ideas thanks in advance the car is a 406 2.2 hdi executive 2002

I think that's another fuse but I can't find which on the diagrams... It sounds sort of like this viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12736&p=112928&hili ... ng#p112928 maybe worth a look. I don't think the lift pump fuse will have gone because it felt depressed

You say the lift pump fuse would not just go I towed my caravan back from Wales 70 odd miles and have been driving mix of town and fast roads and hasnt missed a beat any ideas why it just popped a fuse when it went it was just idleing no lights etc on no radio cheers Paul

Personally, I never hook up with the engine running/circuits energised because of the potential for a "back EMF" - essentially a power surge to blow components - the same reason that I don't "hot plug" computer components unless they're specifically designed to be hot-plugged (USB for example).
I hope that you managed to trace your blown fuses successfully.
