Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
Is it possible to find out some info on Service Box?
I have the part number for my sump, but a new one is £260, one from Ade is £100 and I am hoping to get one nearer £40. Nutski may have one lined up for me but it is not guaranteed at the moment and my sump gasket is letting go....
Part number is 0301 J6 - just wanted to know which other Pugs, Citroen, Ducatos etc share the same part - so I can broaden my search.
Thanks team,
Kelv.

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
DDD, my sump gasket is leaking and the sump plug has been tapped, re-tapped and bodged so many times by previous owners ( taxi firm ) that the bolt is some obscure fitment and it can't be cut again as there is some sort of object behind the hole..??
The A/c pump or alternator or fuel pump is making a noise - I have squirted each with WD40 but still the noise is there, so the A/C pump needs to come off to test it so it seems like a good time to do the sump and gasket while it is removed.
Jon - thanks for the info. There are 2.2Hdi Ducato vans but I don't know if they use the DW12 lump. I will keep my eye out for the other models on the list.
Much appreciated.

Neither Service Box tells us that, PSA has their own part numbers while Fiat (and anyone elseGingerMagic wrote:...Ducatos etc share the same part

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
Fair enough Kelv,
I only asked because you could helicoil it, a much better & stronger fix. It's the way ally sump's should be done from new, mine was stripped when I bought it
.
So I did mine in situ on the car ( kit's can be hired for £25 ) so much cheeper than replacing the sump, with a second hand one which will probably be no better
.
If you think your's is beyond fixing that way & you can't find a sensably priced one,
Then if you can live without your's for a week then you can send it to me & I can drill it out & weld in a new threaded section to suit a drain bolt of your choice
.
pm me if your interested Kelv,
All the best bud DDD.

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
DDD, thanks for the help - I will see how I get on. Helicoil on mine isn't possible because of the lump of something behind the hole so you can't get in to use the kit..

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
Why not do oil changes using a sump-pump kit via the dip stick? you'd never need to 'drain' the sump again.
Here's one as an example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002 ... SACAZ6CJLM

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
Hi Welly, my current sump plug is mostly held in with PTFE tape and grease.. I'm not sure which is leaking most, the gasket or the plug....

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
I think the problem is the drain plug is still leaking but there's nothing else can be done to fix it, it's too far gone, so he'd have to glue it up or weld it, both of which would involve taking it off to do it properly anyway and while it's off...

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
Ohhhhh, I get it.
What a f*cker though, and a coont of a job to replace at home. Still, you'll get to inspect/clean the oil pick-up gauze as a miniature bonus
If you can manage without it it might be worth doing what DDD says and get someone (him if he's happy) or a local light engineering shop to frig up a new fred and sump nut. You'd need a new gashgit - are they silicone rubber on these injins? not Cork shirley?

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
*rummages through Photobucket drawer
*err huh
*aha!
Here's a pick of my 110's sump, looks oily/wet around the gasket.....Oh and it looks like silicone-from-a-tube gasket
will need very careful scraping off and not to score the metal facing. That 'bastard' engine mount looks close to the sump too. Intercooler pipeage will have to come off.

Oh no a picture of my Undertray
WHERE ARE YOU? I'M SORRRRRRYYYYYYYYY

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
I bought one of those since the mrs' sump plug is also knackered. It won't go round the corner at the bottom of the dipstick tube on the hdi90, so is useless to me. Anyone wants to buy it off me for £20 (half-used once) you're welcome (pick-up only)Welly wrote:Why not do oil changes using a sump-pump kit via the dip stick? you'd never need to 'drain' the sump again.

It's been nearly 2 years since its last oil change, so I'm going to risk a 'normal' change on it tomorrow, see if the thread botch will survive the plug being reinserted. If not, I'll have to get round to changing the sump (had one from ebay sat around for a year, but never had the time to change it

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
I wonder if you can invade the sump via the turbo oil return (drain) what goes back into the sump? it's at the back of the block I know but the sump plug isn't exactly easy either.

Re: Sump required for my 2.2Hdi
I'm not sure I like those sump pumps. I can imagine not all the oil gets drained properly and any metal filings or sludge gets left behind!
